Job Summary:

The General Manager at OODAZU - Chamblee is a hands-on leader responsible for the full spectrum of operations, guest experience, team development, and business performance. This is not a behind-the-desk role—our GM is expected to be actively engaged on the floor, leading by example, solving problems in real-time, and directly supporting staff during busy hours, events, and guest interactions. From opening the doors in the morning to supporting birthday parties, responding to customer needs, and helping reset the ninja course, the GM plays a visible and operationally active role in ensuring OODAZU delivers a safe, joyful, and memorable experience for every guest, every day.

We are an ambitious, scaling business with exciting plans for growth, and we’re looking for high-energy individuals who want to grow with us. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, a strong leader, and someone who’s just as comfortable managing staff and vendors as they are helping a customer or decorating a party room themselves.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staffing

  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of part-time and full-time staff.
  • Actively participate in daily operations and lead by example on the floor.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing coverage and step in as needed to fill operational gaps.
  • Provide on-the-ground coaching and feedback to maintain performance standards.
  • Create daily task plans for all staff members to ensure all required tasks are completed.
  • Foster a positive, motivated, and team-first culture.

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, staff scheduling, inventory management, and facility maintenance.
  • Maintain OODAZU’s high standards for cleanliness, safety, and guest service.
  • Ensure the facility meets all safety, cleanliness, and health standards.
  • Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all operational areas.
  • Utilize facility management software to monitor attendance, bookings, and customer feedback.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage inventory for supplies and merchandise.
  • Participate in day-to-day operations, including customer service, running the front desk, sales, and restocking.
  • Delegate and follow up on tasks, especially during “OFF” days.

Program & Event Management

  • Manage the planning and execution of events, including birthday parties, camps, and special programs.
  • Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that align with OODAZU's mission.
  • Collaborate with vendors and entertainers to enhance event offerings.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and make data-driven adjustments as needed.

Customer Experience & Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Resolve customer complaints and service issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Ensure exceptional service standards are upheld in every interaction.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered consistently.
  • Engage with the community to build partnerships and promote OODAZU's offerings.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform service improvements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for escalated customer concerns and feedback.

Ad-Hoc & Emergency Response

  • Remain responsive on “OFF” days and be flexible for last-minute needs or disruptions, including but not limited to:
  • Staff shortages
  • Urgent facility or maintenance issues
  • Customer service escalations,
  • Vendor delivery problems,
  • Technology malfunctions, or
  • Other time-sensitive business concerns that require managerial oversight.

Reporting, Communication, and Financial Management

  • Provide regular reports and updates to corporate as requested.
  • Monitor store and team performance, offering suggestions for improvement.
  • Develop and manage budgets and monitor expenses.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through new programs and services.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Report financial performance and key metrics to ownership regularly.

Sample Work Schedule:

  • Saturday – Sunday: 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Monday – Tuesday: OFF (on call)
  • Wednesday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Note: Flexibility is essential. Manager may be called in outside these hours for urgent needs. Typical work week is 45-50 hours. The above schedule does not include camp days (these specific weekdays begin earlier around 8am).

What We’re Looking For:

  • A high-energy, can-do attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
  • 3–5 years of experience in retail, hospitality, family entertainment, or similar setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
  • Genuine enjoyment of engaging with children in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a high-energy environment.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between store locations and / or to source required supplies.
  • A desire to grow with a scaling company and take on new responsibilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
