Job summary

Raines Company is seeking a General Manager to lead hotel operations and drive profitability while ensuring guest satisfaction and staff development. You will oversee front office, food & beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, security, sales, HR, and accounting processes to align with corporate objectives.

The role requires experience as GM/OM/IMG, familiarity with PMS/POS systems, and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Prior General Manager, Operations Manager or Assistant General Manager experience.
  • Experience with brand’s PMS and Point of Sale systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 or similar computer applications.
  • Minimum high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations and assignments of hotel staff; assist the Regional Director of Operations in developing and communicating departmental strategies and goals, and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Recommend and/or initiate salary, disciplinary, or other staffing/human resources‑related actions in accordance with company rules and policies; alert the Regional Director of Operations to potentially serious issues.
  • Ensure all staff is properly trained and has the necessary tools and equipment to perform their job functions effectively.
  • Assist the Regional Director of Operations in the development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel that support overall company objectives, and provide regular direction for the following functions: Front office, revenue, and reservation; Food and beverage; Housekeeping and Maintenance; Security; Sales; Human resources; Accounting and purchasing controls.
  • Develop, manage, and foster positive owner relationships (if applicable) and provide ongoing information and status reports.
  • Use company‑wide tools, systems and applications without exception.
  • Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance company assets and brand loyalty.
  • Maintain and uphold brand and/or Raines Co. standards at the highest level.

Essential Job Functions

    • Front office, revenue, and reservation functions to ensure superior guest services, secure monies, credit card transactions, and guest information, and to achieve established goals.
    • Food and beverage departments to maintain operational standards, quality, and achieve profit and revenue goals.
    • Housekeeping and Maintenance functions to meet quality and standards for appearance, cleanliness, and maintenance, and to implement preventive maintenance programs.
    • Security function to ensure a safe environment for guests, employees, and assets.
    • Sales functions to achieve financial objectives through established goals.
    • Human resources to maintain positive employee relations, training and development, wage/benefit administration, and compliance with policies, procedures, and labor regulations.
    • Accounting and purchasing controls and procedures.
