Founded in 1979, Driver Driven Transportation (formerly BJ Transport), is an asset-based trucking company and brokerage located in Afton, MN. We specialize in high-service truckload and volume LTL freight transported via dry van and conestoga trailers in the contiguous 48 United States.

We are seeking a General Manager to oversee our day to day operations, strategy, and profitability.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll drive growth, ensure operational excellence, and foster strong customer relationships, all while leading and developing a high-performing, experienced team. This position reports to the President of the Company.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute growth strategies to expand market share in the Truckload/Volume LTL dry van and conestoga markets.
• Drive our performance goals and KPIs, ensuring teams exceed targets.
• Identify new revenue streams and manage strategic partnerships.

Operations Management

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring on-time and cost-effective freight solutions.
• Implement process improvements to ensure operational best practices.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
• Monitor costs and profitability, implementing measures to improve margins.
• Maintain our high customer service standards while controlling costs.
• Lead and develop teams across operations, sales, administration, maintenance, safety, recruiting and finance.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop talent to strengthen organizational capability and enhance our collaborative, performance-driven culture.
• Cultivate strong relationships with our owner operator, lease-purchase and company drivers, as well as our clients, carriers, and vendors.
• Ensure exceptional delivery of service and customer satisfaction.
• Negotiate service agreements and vendor contracts to optimize performance, value, and cost.

• Enhance risk management and business continuity policies.
• Keep the business aligned with evolving industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in logistics, including 3–5 years in an operations and/or financial management leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of domestic freight markets and regulations.
