General Management Consultant - Senior Associate

Job Summary: Lafayette Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-driven general management consultant at the senior associate level to support post-award requirements management, contracting officer representative (COR) activities, and comprehensive review coordination of software procurements for a federal client. Success in this role requires strong operational and analytical skills to manage requirements workflows, validate procurement actions, track contract performance, and maintain high-quality documentation. The ideal candidate excels at coordinating across teams, diagnosing data and process issues, and delivering timely, accurate information that strengthens contract oversight and decision-making.

Job Responsibilities
  • Administer post award requirements management tools, including processing access requests, maintaining Technical Direction Letter (TDL) catalogs and templates, and ensuring timely creation and updates of JIRA based tickets for requirements with accurate status and cost data.
  • Conduct technical editing and quality assurance of TDLs to ensure adherence to style guides and standards prior to client review, and provide tracking support and notifications for TDLs in review queues.
  • Provide comprehensive COR support by managing action items, maintaining COR files, updating presentations and deliverables, and supporting performance management through logging, consolidating, and summarizing feedback and quantitative metrics.
  • Support procurement oversight by reviewing Requests to Initiate Purchase (RIPs), tracking RIP lifecycle status, monitoring expiring licenses, and identifying agency non compliance with OMB memos.
  • Assist with contract financial management by tracking modifications and purchase requests, conducting financial analysis, reviewing contractor provided financial deliverables, maintaining financial trackers, supporting projections and forecasting, and flagging invoice discrepancies for COR review.
  • Analyze contractor staffing reports and government workforce system data to identify discrepancies in staffing profiles and elevate concerns to CORs.
  • Oversee RIP review coordination by monitoring RIP Review Status Reports, briefing leadership on volume trends and turn time spikes, ensuring workload balancing across reviewers, and holding CORs accountable for resolving flagged issues.
  • Maintain RIP reporting accuracy by updating calculated fields, refreshing pivot tables, and preparing refined datasets that support transparent reporting and leadership decision making.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information science, public administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in management consulting, federal program support, acquisition/program operations, or a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience supporting contract administration, procurement review, performance management, or requirements management processes (or similar work)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience validating procurement documentation, reviewing cost data, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining accurate trackers
  • Experience working with workflow, tracking, or requirements management systems (e.g., JIRA, SharePoint, Teams, or similar tools) and the ability to quickly learn new platforms
  • Proven ability to manage documentation and deliverables, maintain organized project files, and adhere to style and quality standards
  • Solid proficiency with Excel, including manipulating datasets, refreshing pivot tables, tracking metrics, and supporting forecasting or trend analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload, manage deadlines, and coordinate across multiple teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government public trust or security clearance, if required
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience working with Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs) or supporting contract oversight functions
  • Understanding of federal financial tracking, contract modifications, and budget execution processes
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Power Platform, or other collaboration and workflow tools
  • Atlassian certifications in Jira or Confluence
  • Familiarity with federal IT, software licensing, or cybersecurity-related acquisition activities
  • Experience in government consulting or with DHS/CISA programs
  • Existing DHS or CISA Entry on Duty (EOD), suitability, or security clearance

Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid, Onsite approximately 1-2 days per week)
