An established industry player is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to join their team in the Rio Grande Valley area. Position Summary: This position performs general maintenance of buildings and equipment requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and key card locks. The work involves traveling to remote sites within the Rio Grande Valley and completing tasks independently. Occasionally, the worker will respond to after-hours emergency calls to mitigate issues and prevent damage to equipment.
Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, plus at least three (3) years of general mechanical, electrical, carpentry, or maintenance experience within the past 4 years. Completion of technical/vocational training or military/industry experience may substitute. A valid Texas Driver's License and ability to maintain DHS Facility access are required. Experience with preventative maintenance and completing work orders is also necessary.
Must respond effectively to inquiries or complaints from customers, managers, and staff. Ability to write reports and present information clearly.
Ability to interpret information and ensure procedures are followed.
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, use of hands, reaching, talking, and hearing. Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. May lift over 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and focus adjustment.
Travel daily using a company vehicle around the RGV area. Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, grease, machinery, chemicals, and weather conditions. Use of protective gear may be required.
