Position Summary:
This role involves performing general maintenance of buildings and equipment, requiring practical skills and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and key card locks. The work is based in the Rio Grande Valley, requiring travel to remote sites and independent task completion. Occasional after-hours emergency responses are required to mitigate issues and prevent damage.
Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, with at least three (3) years of general mechanical, electrical, carpentry, or maintenance experience within the past 4 years. Completion of technical/vocational training or military/industry experience is acceptable. A valid Texas Driver's License and ability to maintain DHS Facility access are required. Experience with preventative maintenance and work order repairs is preferred.
Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, managers, and staff; write reports; and effectively present information and respond to questions.
Ability to interpret information to ensure procedures are followed.
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, and talking/hearing. Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting over 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and focus adjustment.
Daily travel using a company vehicle across various sites in the RGV area. Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, chemicals, and weather conditions. Use of protective gear may be required.
A background check and drug screen are mandatory for this position.
