Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) seeks a General Maintenance Worker – Equipment Facilities Maintenance at Fort Carson, CO. The role performs preventative maintenance on building equipment such as air handlers, condensers, pumps, motors, and more, requiring practical skills in various trades.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of related experience, be able to pass background checks, hold a valid driver's license, and be prepared for shifts including weekends.

Pay Rate: $29.08

Health and Welfare: $9.55 – $12.55/hr up to 40 hours per week.

About the Role

This position performs general preventative maintenance on building equipment such as air handlers, condensers, pumps, motors, exhaust fans, air compressors and air dryers. The position requires practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in various construction trades.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Replacing filters
• Cleaning coils
• Replacing belts, pumps and motors
• Water remediation
• Cleaning of mechanical rooms as well as changing batteries in locks and smoke detectors.
• Emergency light replacement and maintenance
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Consistently produces quality products and service.
• Completes all training within required timeline.
• Performs all work in a safe and secure manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• Must have a minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades.
• Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.
• Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
• Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
• Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
• Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and management.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
• Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
• Knowledge of Lock-out, Tag-out procedures preferred.
• Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer’s mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
• Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
• Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
• Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain – side hills and slopes
• Employee will be required to work on top of buildings, in mechanical rooms, in crawl spaces, etc. to do routine maintenance. This requires but is not limited to carrying ladders, being in small spaces over periods of time, and being able to work at all heights.
• Work may require exposure to dust, particulates, unpleasant and potentially hazardous substances, and high voltage.
