Job summary

HonorHealth in Phoenix, AZ seeks a General Maintenance Worker to perform repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance on hospital buildings, grounds, equipment and vehicles. You will work under licensed trades and support the Facilities team. Requires a High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related maintenance experience; drivers license required.

Overtime as needed with a $5,000 new hire sign-on bonus. Shift is Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred VET/training diploma or degree.
• 1 year of related maintenance experience required.
• 3 years of skilled trade experience preferred.
• Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repairs on hospital building systems (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC).
• Assist licensed tradespeople and support teams in project work.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document activities in CMMS.
• Maintain cleanliness and general areas; attend in-service education.
• Operate and assist with medical equipment, beds, gurneys as needed.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

The General Maintenance Worker performs repairs, installations, and preventative/corrective maintenance on all hospital buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles as required.

Works under the guidance of a licensed plumber to assist with plumbing assignments. Encourages teamwork within Supply Chain Support Services and promotes a culture of service excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on hospital physical plant equipment and building involving plumbing, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, carpentry, roofing, flooring, ceilings, and walls.
• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on beds, gurneys, wheelchairs, pneumatic tube systems, medical equipment, vehicles, televisions and other equipment as assigned
• Assists Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, and Painters as directed.
• Performs related duties which includes but is not limited to: cleaning assigned areas, answering telephones, and completing documentation in computerized maintenance management system.
• Attends in-service education classes as directed.
• Assists other hospital personnel on project work and new installations of equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred Technical Training Diploma/Degree Vocational/Specialized training Preferred

EXPERIENCE

• 1 year of related general maintenance experience Required
• 3 years experience with skilled trade work Preferred
