Pegasus Support Services, LLC seeks a General Maintenance Worker to perform a range of building and equipment upkeep at the Denney Federal Building in Lincoln, Nebraska. Responsibilities include painting, carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and door hardware tasks, with on-call rotations and potential overtime.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of maintenance experience, plus formal or informal training in maintenance trades.

General Maintenance Worker - Denney Federal Building - Lincoln, Nebraska

This position performs general maintenance of buildings and equipment requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and key card locks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
• Replaces filters, belts, etc.
• Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets
• Painting structures and equipment
• Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
• Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles
• Hanging doors and installing door locks; assists with lock outs, battery changes, and rekeying cards.
• Replacing broken windowpanes
• Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Flexible scheduling to include on-call rotations, occasional overtime, and some weekend work.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum requirements for this position include a High School Diploma or equivalent GED plus a minimum of three (3) years general mechanical, electrical, carpentry, or maintenance experience within the past 4 years. Completion of a technical / vocational school in general maintenance skills or comparable training such as military/industry, experience may be an equivalent substitute. A valid Georgia Driver’s License and ability to maintain military gate pass access are required. Experience performing preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery. Experience responding to and completing repairs on Demand Maintenance Orders (DMOs).

• Knowledge of drywall, wood framing, concrete, and other building materials.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.

• Skill in oral and written communications.

Communication Skills:

Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, managers, and staff members. Ability to write reports. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, fellow employees, and customers.

Reasoning Ability:

Must be able to read and interpret various information to ensure procedures are followed.

Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally be required to lift more than 50 pounds. The employee must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work environment will require on-call rotation. The employee may be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, irritating chemicals, and occasional cold, heat, and inclement weather. The work may require the use of protective devices, such as respirators, masks, goggles, and/or gloves.
