Job summary

Ultipro in Winnfield, LA is seeking a full-time on-site maintenance worker to inspect, repair, and maintain prison facilities. You will follow blueprints or manuals, perform drywall and door repairs, and carry out routine maintenance to keep buildings safe and functional.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work after hours, weekends, or holidays. Prior correctional setting experience is a plus, and on-the-job training is provided.

Description

Pay Rate: $19.25 hourly

Inspects and identifies areas, equipment, or machines in need of repair.

Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.

Plans repair work using the building's blueprints or equipment manual as needed.

Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.

Performs routine maintenance on building systems.

Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.

Ensures prompt and appropriate assistance to inmates in the event of injury, illness, and emotional trauma.

Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge Skills/Abilities:

Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.

Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.

Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience in correctional setting is highly desirable.

On-the-job training offered.

Valid driver’s license

Heating/Air Conditioning experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
