Job summary

Valleywise Health is seeking a Maintenance position to perform general upkeep and ensure a safe, well-maintained hospital environment. The role requires reading blueprints, following directions, and working independently with strong communication and time-management skills.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, two years of maintenance experience, and preferred trades apprenticeship. A valid AZ driver’s license, insurance, and fingerprint clearance are required, with vehicle use

Responsibilities

• Provide general maintenance to Valleywise Health to maintain a safe, attractive hospital environment.

• Work independently with limited guidance while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Possess knowledge of building systems codes and OSHA requirements; apply safe working practices.

Under limited direction from the Supervisor Maintenance, this position provides general maintenance to Valleywise Health to allow for a safe and attractive hospital environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.

Experience:

• Requires two (2) years of maintenance related experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Specialized Training:

• Trades apprenticeship preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid AZ issued driver’s license in good standing, and must carry the AZ legally required minimum insurance coverage on personal vehicle at all times.

This position requires operation of a vehicle. Employment is contingent upon meeting the driving eligibility standards outlined in the Valleywise Health Vehicle Use Policy (VUP).

• Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety OR submit a completed Affidavit at time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for fingerprint clearance card.

• Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience in locksmithing, plumbing, welding, and/or painting preferred.

Salary Range: Hourly rate:$18.97 - $27.98
