Job summary

Valley Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to support equipment maintenance, repairs, and facility operations across the hospital.

You will perform maintenance on motors, pumps, fans, and filters, while supporting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems. The role requires attention to safety and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance or facilities experience (hospital setting preferred).
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Understanding of motors, pumps, and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and minor repairs on equipment including motors, pumps, fans, and filters.
• Support electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical system maintenance.
• Assist with installation and repair of fixtures (lighting, sinks, toilets, faucets).
• Maintain and stock maintenance supplies within budget guidelines.
• Support painting, wall repairs, and general facility upkeep.
• Maintain cleanliness of plant areas, supply rooms, and equipment.
• Assist other trades (plumbing, electrical, etc.) as needed.
• Perform safety checks and isolation room testing.
• Ensure compliance with PPE, safety standards, and hospital policies.
• Transport and move equipment or furniture as needed.
