Job summary

Intermountain Health in Murray, UT is seeking a Maintenance Worker III – General to support the Facilities Management team at Intermountain Medical Center. The role handles routine to complex maintenance, including plumbing, doors, windows, and hospital equipment, with a focus on safety and infection control.

The candidate will work Monday–Friday 7am–3:30pm, some nights/weekends, with no on-call; 40 hours weekly, benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a maintenance generalist or handyman.
• Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above.
• A valid drivers license may be required for this position.
• Willingness to work hard and to learn.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine to complex maintenance tasks (bulbs, fixtures, walls, floors).
• Replace plumbing fixtures, cabinetry, doors, and windows.
• Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of hospital equipment and systems.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and ensure infection control and patient privacy.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
• Lead or assist teams to complete complex tasks.
• Document work and report issues for follow-up.

Job Description:The Maintenance Worker III – General is a position in the Facilities Management department. The position focuses on general maintenance and the caregiver may be assigned to work in a variety of areas of focus.The Maintenance Worker III – General is able to work autonomously and with minimal supervision. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
