The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings, requiring practical skills in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC, and electrical work.

Pay Rate: $27.87 per hour total compensation

Essential Job Functions

1. Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
2. Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets
3. Painting structures and equipment
4. Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
5. Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles
6. Repairing and installing door closers and door locks
7. Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery
8. Maintaining Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems
9. Maintaining concrete and asphalt roads, parking lots, and sidewalks
10. Other duties as assigned

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. 2 years recent experience (within past 5 years) in building operations and maintenance or similar occupation
3. Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
4. Strong organizational skills
5. Ability to multi-task
6. Effective presentation and response skills
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email applications
8. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Occasionally sitting. Must frequently lift/move over 100 pounds. Visual abilities include close, distance, color, and depth perception.

Working Environment

Work occurs in a commercial facility, with exposure to weather, loud noises, heat, dust, and fumes when servicing rooftop units, etc.
