The General Maintenance Technician I performs maintenance services and repairs at our resort, ensuring all facilities and villas meet high standards. Responsibilities include routine inspections, addressing maintenance requests, and executing repairs to enhance guest experience and safety. Success requires upholding high-quality standards for both interior and exterior spaces through daily inspections, skilled use of basic to intermediate hand tools, and understanding dispatching systems. The GMT I will proactively identify and address repair needs to keep assets functional and visually appealing. They will respond promptly to guest requests, demonstrating a customer-focused approach, and collaborate with leadership for larger repairs or resource needs.

Essential Duties and Tasks
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on plumbing fixtures, windows, doors, lighting, and other assets.
  • Respond to corrective maintenance requests from guests and staff.
  • Maintain a clean and safe worksite by removing debris, reporting cleanliness issues, and preparing for weather events.
  • Adhere to all safety, OSHA, and compliance standards, including completing required training and training teammates.
  • Maintain accurate records of services and work performed using mobile and desktop applications.
Qualifications

  • Basic maintenance knowledge and skills
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Vocational training is a plus
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
  • Basic troubleshooting and repairs (e.g., door hinges, furniture assembly, changing filters, touch-up paint, caulking)
  • Minor plumbing and electrical tasks (e.g., unclogging drains, replacing bulbs)
  • Conduct inspections and document repairs needed
  • Interact with guests professionally
Physical Demands

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, operate hand tools or machinery, and lift 30-50 pounds. Accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Work will often be in non-climate-controlled environments, exposed to weather, chemicals, odors, and noise.
