Job description

WinnCompanies is seeking a dependable and adaptable General Maintenance Technician to join our military housing team at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

The main duties include performing maintenance across the community, including rental units, office buildings, residential areas, grounds, and parking lots. Responsibilities encompass general maintenance and repair of building structures and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitary systems, and equipment. Ensuring all services are performed safely and lead to positive customer feedback, documented via customer service surveys.

This position is at a federal facility. In accordance with the REAL ID Act, a REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID is required to access the facility from May 7, 2025.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls related to residential maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliances, to fulfill service, COM work, and property management needs.
• Complete repairs as directed by supervisors or management.
• Transport, install, and connect appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
• Transport equipment, furnishings, and appliances to job sites.
• Repair and fabricate window screens, door screens, and door frames.
• Remove floor tiles, vinyl, ceramic tiles, plywood, and damaged drywall.
• Respond to and complete emergency and urgent repairs outside of regular hours.
• Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork promptly.
• Update work order statuses with details on time, materials, and notes via mobile devices.
• Keep supervisors informed of activities, outcomes, and potential issues, and suggest corrective actions.
• Maintain professionalism and cooperate when interacting with customers, staff, contractors, monitors, and the public.
• Attend relevant workshops, seminars, meetings, and training sessions.
• Maintain assigned vehicle and inventory as prescribed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license in good standing, meeting company safe driving standards.
• Proficiency in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, or appliance repair.
• Own basic tools and equipment necessary for daily tasks.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with web applications.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to read/write in English to understand instructions and follow directions.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications
