Job description

WinnCompanies is searching for an adaptable and dependable General Maintenance Technician to join our military housing team at David Monthan Air Force Base, located in Tucson, AZ.

In this role, you will perform service and Change of Occupancy Maintenance functions across the community, including rental units, office buildings, residential areas, grounds, and parking lots. You will also ensure all services are performed safely, resulting in positive customer feedback.

Note: In accordance with the REAL ID Act, effective May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID is required to access the federal facility.

Responsibilities
  1. Respond to service calls related to residential maintenance such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliances, to complete service and COM work and property management requirements.
  2. Complete repairs as directed by your supervisor or other management representatives.
  3. Transport, install, and connect appliances like stoves, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
  4. Transport equipment, furnishings, and appliances to job sites.
  5. Repair and fabricate window screens, door screens, and door frames.
  6. Remove floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic tile, plywood, and damaged drywall.
  7. Respond to and complete on-call emergency and urgent repairs outside regular hours.
  8. Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork promptly.
  9. Update work order status, including time, materials, and notes, on mobile devices accurately and promptly.
  10. Keep your supervisor well-informed of your activities, results, and potential issues, and suggest corrective actions when needed.
  11. Maintain professionalism and work cooperatively when interacting with customers, staff, contractors, monitors, and the public.
  12. Attend relevant workshops, seminars, meetings, and training sessions.
  13. Maintain the assigned vehicle and inventory as prescribed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • A valid driver's license in good standing, meeting the company's safe driving standards.
  • Proficiency in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, or appliance repair.
  • Ability to provide necessary tools and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with web-based applications.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and write in English for understanding instructions and taking directions.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
  • Note: A REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID is required to access the federal facility from May 7, 2025.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational or technical training.
