Job description

General Maintenance Technician - AWS 2/3/2 Night Shift

Join us to apply for the General Maintenance Technician - AWS 2/3/2 Night Shift role at Carlex Glass America, LLC.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting all mechanical issues, establishing root causes, and performing required maintenance and repairs on all equipment within the plant. This role involves planning, implementing, and executing corrective actions to ensure optimal functioning of plant equipment. Essential Job Functions:

  1. Carry out repairs to all types of equipment and facilities safely, timely, and professionally.
  2. Troubleshoot defective equipment to identify causes and make repairs.
  3. Follow instructions from the Maintenance supervisor on shift.
  4. Complete daily walk-through inspections on equipment in assigned areas.
  5. Perform run time and downtime preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment.
  6. Track time through work order completion.
  7. Assist with troubleshooting production process issues as needed.
  8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and toolboxes.
  9. Update supervision, staff, and operators on equipment maintenance status via verbal and written reports.
  10. Promote a team environment.
  11. Adhere to safety policies, including LOTO, Arc Flash, Confined Space, and Environmental protocols.
  12. Respond promptly to internal and external customer needs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; an Associate degree in a maintenance or technical field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Valid driver’s license required for business travel.
  • Knowledge of robotic programming and PLC logic troubleshooting is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and beyond standard hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Hands-on problem-solving and analytical skills.
