Summary of Position:

Under the direction of the Kewa Child Care Development Program Director, the General Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring center facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained, performing a variety of tasks including repairs, cleaning, and groundskeeping. Conducts regular and routine inspection of building interior and exterior. Assists staff and other programs with building access during non-typical hours of operation. Ensures compliance with local, tribal, and federal/state grant requirements and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalency; and (1) year preferred.
  • Work may be performed outdoors with exposure to inclement weather.
  • Manual Physical Labor required
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. Prolonged standing, walking, and bending.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be team oriented.
  • Knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools and materials used in several maintenance trades, knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the maintenance trades
  • Position requires Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification, 12 hours of health and safety training for childcare professionals, and successful background check.
  • Must be willing to be trained in program regulations and other areas pertinent to job performance, which may require overnight, out of town/out of state travel.
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license with ability to meet Santo Domingo Pueblos liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a background check and new hire drug screening.
  • Must have computer experience.
  • Keres Speaking preferred.
