Job summary

Ducommun Incorporated is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and keep facilities fully operational at our Huntsville site. Responsibilities include installing electrical controls, water and air lines, repairing plumbing and equipment, painting, and moving materials with motorized lifts.

The role requires ability to diagnose equipment and electrical/plumbing issues, and willingness to respond to 24-hour emergency calls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of maintenance trades experience preferred.
• HVAC experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical controls, power circuits, services, and light fixtures.
• Install water lines, air lines, drain lines, and related plumbing.
• Repair breaks and maintain facility plumbing and all equipment.
• Build partitions, platforms and frames, often without blueprints; perform miscellaneous building repairs.
• Perform painting and plastering duties.
• Operate motorized lifts and move materials around the plant.
• Transport items to outside suppliers as directed.
• Maintain company vehicle and ensure it is roadworthy and compliant.

Job Summary

• Install electrical controls, power circuits, services, light fixtures, etc.
• Install water lines, air lines, drain lines, etc.

• Build partitions, platforms, frames, etc., often without the aid of blueprints
  Perform miscellaneous building repairs
• Perform painting and plastering duties
• Drive various motorized lifts and move materials and supplies throughout the plant
• Pick up and deliver items, orders and materials to outside suppliers as indicated on trip request or by verbal directions from supervisor
• Maintain company vehicle in proper operating condition, check and maintain all proper fluid levels, keep vehicle current with state inspection requirements.
• Handle hazardous waste, which may include labeling and transferring to central storage area
• Satisfactorily complete initial and annual hazardous waste training to ensure compliance, training must meet RCRA requirements
• Perform other assignments as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose equipment problems
• Ability to diagnose problems with the operation’s electrical and plumbing
• Knowledge of various maintenance trades
• Available for 24-hour emergency call-ins

Required Experience and Education

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Two years of maintenance trades experience
• HVAC experiencepreferred but not required
