Job summary

EMCOR Facilities Services in Cincinnati, Ohio seeks a General Maintenance Tech to join our team. The role covers carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs in a busy facility.

Job Summary

EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a General Maintenance Tech in Cincinnati, Ohio. High quality standards is a must. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and possess good oral and written communication skills, professional appearance, and good attitude required. Must be self‑motivated and a self‑starter. General handy man, carpentry skills, replace ceiling tiles, repair locks, closures, repair walls, painting, rubber base, carpet, and floor tile. Minor plumbing repairs: unclog sinks, toilets, fix minor leaks. Electrical: replace ballast bulbs, etc.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Check equipment at the facility daily to make sure the equipment is running and in good working order. Make repairs if necessary. This includes electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.

Completes general building repairs, including repair and painting of walls, doors, floors, etc. Completes repairs to plumbing system including fixing leaks, stoppages, repairs or replacement of sinks, piping, valves or drains and toilets.

Replaces lighting components, ceiling tiles, and grids throughout the buildings and offices.

Maintains building lighting, parking lot lighting, lighting contractors, emergency lights/exit lights, and 120‑volt outlets, photoelectric eyes for exterior building lighting and lighting contactors that are controlled by the energy management system.

Maintains all equipment and inventory of product. In winter months, snow removal includes running snow blower and spreading calcium chloride.

Maintains doors and door hardware, repairing or replacing if necessary.

Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities. Ordering MEP supplies and controlling stock.

Communicates directly with the customer and manager in assuring that all aspects of a work request are understood, that parts must be ordered, or that the requested completion date will be delayed for any reason not discovered during the conversion of the work request into a work order.

Repair and replace carpet tile & rubber base if necessary.

Maintain other tenant space within the building to the same expectations for plumbing, etc.

Qualifications

Education

(HS Diploma, Undergraduate Degree, etc.)

HS Diploma or GED.

Business Experience

(Prior years work/related experience)

4 – 6 years related experience.

Licenses/Certifications

Must possess a valid driver license.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Ability to work and communicate professionally in occupied space environments with a variety of customers.

Ability to be on‑call 1 week a month, minimum.
