Job summary

Arbor Lodging is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a range of upkeep and repair tasks in guest rooms and common areas across our hotel portfolio. You will help keep equipment, fixtures, and systems in safe, working order and support preventative maintenance efforts.

This on-site role requires a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings, strong customer service, and the ability to communicate clearly with team members and guests.

Qualifications

  • High school education or GED.
  • 1-2 Years of hotel maintenance experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Thrives in a flexible environment and can switch tasks quickly.
  • Basic maintenance certification/accreditation preferred.
  • Is a team player.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings (required).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the basic upkeep of all room and common areas by ensuring all furniture, appliances, and electrical equipment such as televisions, refrigerators, and light fixtures are in working order.
  • Organize supplies and make sure equipment is ready for the next day.
  • Maintain high safety standards – follow guidelines and tell supervisor about any incidents, dangerous conditions, or unsafe equipment.
  • Take responsibility for the safety and cleanliness of areas inside and outside the hotel, such as the parking lot and pool by conducting periodic tours of the property.
  • Keep an eye out for improvements – follow the preventative maintenance calendar and keep everything in working condition.
  • Keep supervisor or duty manager in the loop and notify them of any low-running supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with the hotel staff.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor in the dealings with clients, guests, managers, and other hotel staff.
  • Take on extra duties as and when the team is in need.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move heavy objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned at any given time.

Summary:

The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of maintenance and repair tasks in guest rooms and common spaces to keep the hotel in compliance with safety standards and ensure the safety of hotel guests, associates, and vendors.?This position will perform maintenance and repairs along with preventative maintenance to maintain the physical structure and grounds of the hotel and its property.

Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
