The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is seeking a Refrigeration-Air Conditioning Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair tasks on HVAC systems at all METRO facilities. The ideal candidate must possess a high school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience, along with necessary certifications. This role emphasizes safety compliance, customer service, and teamwork.

Performs maintenance and repair HVAC functions at all METRO facilities. Performs preventative maintenance inspections and diagnoses problems. Performs general repairs to property and equipment. Installs, repairs, services, trouble shoots, adjusts, calibrates all refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation systems and controls at all METRO facilities and properties. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) years’ experience as a Refrigeration-Air Conditioning Mechanic. Demonstrated ability in all phases of refrigeration and air conditioning.
Valid State of Texas Driver’s License. Valid State of Texas TDLR Registered Technician- AC Technician. Valid EPA Section 608 – Universal Technician Certification. Good working knowledge of HVAC codes. Able to complete/fill-out written reports, records and forms. Able to maintain and/or obtain additional licensing or certifications as required
