Vitro Architectural Glass, North America's largest manufacturer of architectural and automotive glass, is currently hiring for a General Maintenance Mechanic at its Wichita Falls, Texas location. The Wichita Falls facility produces flat glass utilizing the float process for application in the automotive, trade, and mirror markets.

A General Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing plant maintenance in a safe and orderly manner to maintain high production levels. The incumbent observes all environmental policies to minimize environmental impact, follows safety rules, maintains good housekeeping, and assists in these efforts throughout the plant. The role requires troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, including skills in welding, millwrighting, pipefitting, and electrical work. This position operates on a continuous schedule (24/7) with a rotating shift.

Skills and Requirements

• Use of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of bearings, gears, couplings, etc.
• Knowledge of cylinders, valves, and solenoids
• Experience with preventative maintenance in an industrial setting
• Basic welding and fabrication skills
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Basic 3-phase electrical experience
• Basic control systems troubleshooting
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
• Advanced fabrication skills are a plus
• Basic machining skills with mills and lathes are a plus
• PLC and motor control experience are highly desirable
