Job summary

Trailboss Enterprises Inc. is seeking a General Maintenance Laborer to keep site work areas and washrooms orderly and to clean interiors and exteriors of vehicles.

Duties include sweeping, washing, vacuuming, and replenishing supplies, using standard cleaning tools and chemicals. The role requires US citizenship, a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Class C driver's license, and the ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• Must be a United States citizen.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass post-offer / pre-employment physical.
• Must have a valid Class C driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.
• Basic janitorial/housekeeping experience with six months experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials and chemicals.
• Excellent verbal and written command of English.

Responsibilities

• Clean vehicular interiors including driver’s compartment, walls, ceilings, windows, handrails, mirrors, seats, and floors using appropriate equipment and chemicals.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets; perform exterior cleaning.
• Operate yard vehicles as needed in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Report damage, broken items, and upholstery defects.
• Perform preventative maintenance scheduled work as assigned.
• Polish glass and metal surfaces; dust all surfaces and under surfaces as assigned.
• Perform bus lavatory waste dump and sanitize as needed.

Job Description

The General Maintenance Laborer cleans and keeps site working areas and washrooms, or premises of an office in an orderly condition; cleans interior and exteriors of transportation vehicles such as automobiles and buses. Interiors may be cleaned using broom, cloth, mop, vacuum cleaner, and whiskbroom; cleaning windows with water, cleansing compounds, cloth or chamois; and replenishing sanitary supplies in vehicle compartments. Exteriors may be cleaned by removing dust, grease, and oil using steam-cleaning equipment or by spraying or washing vehicles using spray equipment, brush, or sponge. The Cleaner may polish exterior of vehicle and may fumigate interior of vehicle using fumigating gases or sprays.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleans vehicular interiors to include: driver's compartment, walls, ceilings, windows, handrails, mirrors, seats, step wells, and floors using appropriate equipment and chemicals.
• Removes any foreign materials from vehicular interiors.
• Vacuums and shampoos carpets.
• Performs minor levels of exterior cleaning.
• Assists in cleaning of work areas; assists in preparing cleaning materials.
• May operate vehicles in yard as needed in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Reports damage, broken items, and upholstery defects.
• Performs bus lavatory waste dump at approved facility
• Prepares and sanitizes bus lavatories with proper chemicals
• Cleans parts and items with a steam cleaner as needed/directed.
• Empty all trash receptacles and change plastic liners/sand as assigned.
• Clean all glass surfaces and polish all metal surfaces as assigned.
• Dust all surfaces and under surfaces (chair rungs, table legs, etc.) as assigned.
• Mop floors with a sweep mop treated with a product to cause dust adherence as assigned.
• Clean all interior and exterior door surfaces, handrails, partitions, etc. as assigned.
• Clean all doormats at all entrances, corridors and recreation areas.
• Police all areas assigned by identifying, picking up and removing all litter, rubbish, debris, trash and other loose objects. If areas outside our general assignment need policing, notify Supervisor of the area requiring additional policing so that assignments can be made.
• Perform preventative maintenance scheduled work as assigned.

Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

• Must be a United States Citizen.
• Completion of a standard grade. High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma preferred.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to pass a post-offer / pre-employment physical.
• Must have a valid Class C Drivers license and maintain a safe driving record.
• Basic janitorial/housekeeping experience and knowledge with six (6) months experience in fields providing the knowledge, skills and abilities identified in this job description.
• Knowledge of the use of cleaning materials such as soaps, powders and cleaning chemicals.

Language Skills:

• Must have excellent verbal and written command of the English language, with the ability to read and comprehend written correspondence.
• Able to understand/interpret verbal and written instructions to perform required duties.

General Skills and Abilities:

• Strong organizational skills commensurate with position and ability to prioritize tasks.

Physical Demands:

• Duties require the physical movements to clean vehicular interiors, including bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, speak and hear.
• Use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate equipment; reach with hands and arms; ability to lift-up to 50 pounds occasionally.
