General Maintenance Engineer Evening & Overnight Shifts

Summary

The General Maintenance Engineer at Grand Hyatt Denver is responsible for general maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public/back-of-house areas. This includes responding promptly to guest room calls and providing excellent service. The role also involves mechanical repairs in kitchens, mechanical spaces, and building exterior/interior repairs. Candidates should communicate well and be self-motivated, especially during lower call volume periods.

Organization - Grand Hyatt Denver

Responsibilities include responding to maintenance requests, performing mechanical repairs, and maintaining safety standards. Flexibility with shifts is required, including some evening (3:00 pm–11:30 pm) and overnight shifts (11:00 pm–7:30 am). A shift differential of $2.00/hour applies to overnight shifts. The schedule may include 8-hour or 10-hour days, with availability on weekends and holidays. The schedule is subject to change based on business needs.

Qualifications
  • Technical experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration, or painting/wallcovering
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good communication skills with guests, clients, and staff
  • Ability to follow safety policies
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • 2-3 years of hotel experience preferred
