Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to support hospital facilities across the Prescott complex. You will perform carpentry, painting, and routine maintenance while collaborating with skilled tradespeople to ensure safe, reliable operation of buildings and equipment.

The role requires applying preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and maintaining furniture and fixtures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in one or more trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assure quality workmanship on all projects and manage materials wisely.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Perform plumbing tasks including installation and repairs of equipment.
• Carry out routine preventive maintenance per scheduled work orders.
• Construct, repair, and maintain hospital furniture, partitions, doors, windows, floors, and framework; use power tools safely.
• Prepare surfaces for painting and apply paints to interior and exterior surfaces; work with scaffolds and ladders safely.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our General Maintenance Engineer, you will perform a variety of essential duties related to building operations and maintenance throughout the Hospital complex, ensuring a safe and functional environment.

Every day you will contribute to the upkeep of our facilities by performing tasks related to carpentry and painting when required. You will also assist skilled tradesmen and other workers in completing their tasks, and competently complete repairs on maintenance machinery and mechanical equipment.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate versatile skills in general maintenance, a proactive approach to facility upkeep, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure the seamless operation of hospital buildings and equipment.

• Maintains responsibility for the quality of individual workmanship in all projects completed and judicious use of all materials and supplies
• Performs diagnostic, trouble-shooting functions on mechanical and electrical systems
• Performs plumbing functions, relating to installation of new equipment and repairs of old equipment
• Performs routine preventive maintenance functions on a scheduled basis, as directed by the preventive maintenance work orders
• Ability to construct, repair and/or maintain furniture, partitions, doors, windows, floors and hospital framework when requested: ability to use power tools during the performance of such tasks
• Ability to prepare surfaces for painting; apply various types of paints to interior and exterior surfaces; and use equipment such as scaffolds, ladders, etc. in a safe manner

Job Requirements
