Job summary

American Games in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined General Maintenance Technician to help keep our facility safe, functional, organized and well maintained. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in building, facility, property or general maintenance preferred.
• General knowledge of basic plumbing, painting, patching, carpentry and building repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Complete a variety of general building repairs, including basic plumbing, painting, patching, carpentry and fixture replacement.
• Repair or replace building components such as door hardware, locks, shelving, ceiling tiles, faucets, light bulbs and similar fixtures.
• Assemble, install, relocate and repair office furniture, shelving and other facility items.
• Help maintain entrances, walkways, parking areas, storage spaces and other interior and exterior areas.
• Respond to maintenance requests, troubleshoot basic facility issues and complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain tools, supplies and maintenance materials in a clean, organized and safe condition.

Are you the kind of person who notices when something needs to be fixed-and would rather grab your tools and take care of it than wait for someone else?

We're looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined General Maintenance Technician to help keep our facility safe, functional, organized and well maintained.

This is a hands-on building and grounds position focused on general facility maintenance-not complex industrial machinery repair. You'll tackle a variety of projects throughout the day, from plumbing and painting to carpentry, fixture replacement, preventive maintenance and general building repairs.

What You'll Do

As part of our Maintenance team, you'll work throughout the facility identifying maintenance needs, completing routine repairs and responding to day-to-day requests.

Additional Duties And Responsibilities Include

• Perform routine building inspections and preventive maintenance, identifying repair, upkeep and potential safety concerns before they become larger problems.
• Complete a variety of general building repairs, including basic plumbing, painting, patching, light carpentry and fixture replacement.
• Repair or replace building components such as door hardware, locks, shelving, ceiling tiles, faucets, light bulbs and similar fixtures.
• Assemble, install, relocate and repair office furniture, shelving and other facility items.
• Help maintain entrances, walkways, parking areas, storage spaces and other interior and exterior areas.
• Respond to maintenance requests, troubleshoot basic facility issues and complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Recognize when a repair requires a specialized or licensed contractor and communicate those needs to management.
• Maintain tools, supplies and maintenance materials in a clean, organized and safe condition.
• Assist with general facility projects, housekeeping and cleanup as needed.
• Follow Company safety procedures and properly use hand tools, power tools, ladders and required PPE.
• Other duties as required.

What We’re Looking For

You don't need to be an expert in every trade. We're looking for a well-rounded, hands-on problem solver with general building maintenance knowledge and the ability to determine what they can repair safely and when additional expertise is needed.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in building, facility, property or general maintenance preferred.
• General knowledge of basic plumbing, painting, patching, carpentry and building repairs.
• Comfortable safely using common hand and power tools.
• Ability to identify maintenance and safety concerns and determine appropriate next steps.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple maintenance requests.
• Dependable, self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in completing quality work.
• Professional communication and customer service skills when working with employees, vendors and contractors.
• Valid driver's license may be required based on facility needs.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds and safely use ladders.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility as required by federal law.
