WinnCompanies is searching for a General Maintenance Associate - Service to join our Fort Drum Mountain Community Home military housing team at Fort Drum, NY.

In this role, your primary responsibility is to perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, office buildings, residential areas, grounds, and parking lots. You will also repair building structures and associated residential electrical, plumbing, sanitary systems, and equipment. Ensuring all services are performed safely and result in favorable customer feedback is essential.

Please note that the pay range for this position is $17.85 to $18.18 per hour. Final salary will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Additionally, please note that this position is located at a federal facility. In accordance with the REAL ID Act, effective May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID is required to access the federal facility.

Responsibilities
  1. Respond to service calls to complete work and property maintenance requests.
  2. Conduct maintenance, repairs, and rehabilitation of property, including plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
  3. Clean public areas, rental units, and offices.
  4. Perform interior and exterior painting, roof repairs, lawn upkeep, debris removal, and replacement of lights and smoke detectors.
  5. Transport, install, and connect appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
  6. Transport equipment, furnishings, and appliances to job sites; load and unload trucks.
  7. Perform on-call emergency repairs as directed.
  8. Repair and fabricate window screens, door screens, and door frames.
  9. Dig/fill and tamp earth excavations; level grounds; shovel concrete; clean culverts and ditches; cut trees and brush; operate power tools and lawn mowers.
  10. Remove floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic floor tile, and plywood.
  11. Operate power blowers or brooms to clean rooftops, sidewalks, and driveways; ensure site cleanup.
  12. Complete and submit all required paperwork accurately and promptly.
  13. Keep supervisor informed of activities, results, and potential issues.
  14. Maintain vehicle and inventory as prescribed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Current driver's license in good standing; ability to meet driving record standards.
  • Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades.
  • Ability to provide necessary tools and equipment.
  • Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
  • This position requires a REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID due to federal facility access.
