Job summary

NOV is seeking a Maintenance Technician to collaborate with the Maintenance/Facility Manager to reduce downtime in troubled areas and repair production equipment promptly after breakdowns. You will work on assigned projects, fabricate and install new equipment, and perform Preventative Maintenance to keep machinery running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a journeyman license or related degree, and the ability to pass drug and background checks.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Journeyman's License or degree in electronics/mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Drug screen and background check required.
  • Overtime and shift work may be required.
  • Five years of related trades experience is required (Millwright, Building Maintenance, Machinist, Electrical/Electronic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic).
  • Ability to stand/walk/bend/squat/push-pull for long periods.
  • Repetitive movement and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read precision gauges.
  • Ability to use hand tools safely.
  • Cross-training to learn all duties.
  • Ability to learn repair and assembly guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Repair production equipment quickly and safely after breakdowns.
  • Work on assigned projects.
  • Fabricate and install new equipment.
  • Maintain machinery per Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Troubleshoot equipment.
  • Utilize safe work habits and PPE.
  • Adhere to NOV, HSE, and Quality policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Standing, Walking, Bending/Stooping, & Push/Pull up to 12 hours daily
  • Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping/fastening) up to 12 hours daily
  • Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. Regularly
  • Ability to read precision gauges
  • Ability to use hand tools correctly and safely
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required
  • Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
