Job summary

The Kraft Heinz Company in Champaign, IL is hiring a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and corrective maintenance on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes and fillers to minimize downtime. You will weld and fabricate components, install new equipment with proper leveling, anchoring and test runs, and service piping, valves and sanitary systems.

You will also inspect and repair building fixtures, diagnose leaks, and maintain shop tools.

Qualifications

• Previous welding/fabrication experience in a maintenance role.
• Experience with pipefitting, plumbing or steam is a plus.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Able to safely work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime.
• Perform welding and fabrication including stainless work and sanitary repairs.
• Install new equipment, move, level, align, anchor and test run.
• Complete maintenance on steam, air and vacuum systems, hydraulics.
• Repair building fixtures such as doors, windows, piping; light masonry work.
• Diagnose leaks and mechanical issues on process piping and pumps; replace gaskets.
• Maintain the maintenance shop, tools and parts; operate shop and welding equipment safely.
• Work at heights and in confined spaces; perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation Overview:

The starting hourly wage for this role is $37.69

Shift Premium of $.75/hr on 2nd shift (3pm-11pm)

Hourly Bonus Program

Work Schedule:

• Flexible scheduling, 8-hour workday, 6 days a week, with overtime.
• Employees must have weekend availability.
• Employees may work weekends and holidays.

Job Overview:

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on production equipment (conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, fillers/packaging equipment) to minimize downtime.
• Perform welding and fabrication as including stainless work and sanitary repairs.
• Installation of new equipment, which will include: moving and setting, leveling and aligning, perform proper methods of anchoring, and test running.
• Complete maintenance on steal, air and vacuum systems, and hydraulics.
• Installation or repair of all building fixtures including doors, windows, piping, and some light masonry work.
• Diagnose and fix leaks, clogs, and mechanical failures on process piping, pumps, and fittings; replace gaskets and seals.
• Maintain the maintenance shop, tools, and parts; inspect and safely operate shop and welding equipment
• Will be working at heights and within confined spaces.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
