Job summary

Westminster Gardens Retirement Community in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a full-time General Maintenance technician. The role focuses on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs to support residents and maintenance readiness.

You will perform routine maintenance, document service calls, and complete punch-out tasks to ensure units meet quality standards before occupancy. A GED or HS diploma and 1 year of maintenance experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 6–12 months related maintenance experience or training
• 1 year of maintenance experience or training
• Equivalent combination of education and experience in carpentry acceptable

Description

Westminster Gardens Retirement Community is seeking to fill a full time position for General Maintenance.

Westminster Gardens emphasizes a Team Approach which focuses on a spirit of cooperation, common purpose and culture of costumer service. Must conduct all business in accordance with Company policies and procedures, state and federal laws; e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing Laws.

General Responsibilities

Diagnoses and performs minor or routine maintenance or repair, as directed, involving the following on a daily basis:

• Electrical and Plumbing
• A/C, Boiler, Heating Systems
• Performs all needed make-ready repairs and Ensures that quality standards are met prior to resident occupancy
• Maintains on-call report and log of service calls
• Apartment Punch-Out: Paint, Window Treatments, Appliances, Lighting, Toilet/Vanity Replacement and other duties as needed
• Performs all work with the residents' satisfactions in mind

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in carpentry.

1 year: Maintenance experience or training
