Job summary

Loma Linda University Health is seeking a Plant Operations Technician for a full-time night shift to support hospital facilities by maintaining the building and equipment and performing preventative maintenance on utilities and life-safety inspections to ensure safety and reliability.

You will carry out minor mechanical repairs, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and drywall, and assist with other duties as needed. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in general repair (carpentry, HVAC, electrical) or hospital-related facility experience required.

Responsibilities

• Keep the hospital structure and equipment in good repair.
• Perform preventative maintenance on utilities and life safety inspections (fire extinguishers).

Job Summary

General Maintenance assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of Hospital in good repair. Performs preventative maintenance on some utilities, life safety inspections (fire extinguishers), and other equipment as qualified. Performs minor mechanical repairs and plumbing, drywall, painting, wallpapering, and other duties relating to maintenance. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience

Minimum three years of experience in general repair (carpentry, HVAC, electrical) or hospital-related facility experience required.

Knowledge and Skills

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; to diagnose and perform maintenance on various machines, equipment and systems required. Ability to work professionally with colleagues in a manner that generates mutual respect and a positive working environment. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; calculate percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
