Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Litigation Examiner in California to adjudicate high-end General Liability claims, manage complex coverage matters, and coordinate with clients and local counsel. The role emphasizes strategic planning, early resolution, and collaboration across a global claims network.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in litigation claims management, preferably with General Liability exposure, and resides in California.

Qualifications

• Six years of litigation claims management experience (General Liability).
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Must reside in California (CA).

Responsibilities

• Reviews/acts on reports and forms; responds to inquiries; seeks legal opinion and early resolution.
• Handles high end cases with serious injuries and/or complex coverage scenarios.
• Responds to decisions, agreement, and/or court order; creates action plan; determines need for examination; gains client authorization.
• Identifies cases for settlements/redemptions.
• Gathers/documents additional information and coordinates with client designees.
• Coordinates with local counsel for investigations and monitors performance.
• Responds to plaintiff's counsel, union, employee, or client requests.
• Identifies issues and formulates defense strategy.
• Establishes/adjusts accrued liability and approves administrative expenses.
• Identifies subrogation opportunities and manages process.
• Attends mediations, trials, arbitrations or hearings as needed.
• Works with partners to affect early return-to-work.
