Job summary

AOS Interior Environments is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our Accounting Team in New Orleans. This role drives day-to-day general ledger accuracy, month-end close, payroll processing, reconciliations, and tax filings, contributing to timely financial statements.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and the initiative to improve processes. Collaboration with the Corporate Controller is central to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of recent, relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Payroll experience; Paylocity preferred.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet, database, and word processing software; advanced Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process payroll and related journal entries in Paylocity.
• Perform bank reconciliations and post cash activity.
• Maintain schedules for fixed assets and depreciation expenses.
• Prepare and file sales/use tax returns and annual 1099s; support audits.
• Process intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Assist with work-in-progress and project accounting schedules.
• Support year-end audit with documentation and liaison to external auditors.
• Maintain knowledge of department responsibilities including AR, AP, invoicing, and CORE master file.
