General Ledger Accountant - Mandarin speaking, renewable
Opportunity for a Mandarin-speaking professional to join a global leading solar manufacturing company as General Ledger Accountant.
Location: On site; willing to relocate to East Coast (South Carolina).
The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's general accounting operations. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, timely financial reporting, and adherence to accounting policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the daily operations of the general accounting team, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL).
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes.
- Prepare, review, and distribute financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
- Oversee monthly account reconciliations, balance sheet analyses, and journal entries.
- Lead and coordinate the external audit process for assigned areas, including preparation of supporting documentation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial and operational goals.
- Mentor, train, and develop accounting staff to enhance team performance and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification highly preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Hands-on experience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven track record of improving processes and leading teams through change.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with financial audits and liaising with external auditors.
