Job Purpose/Scope

The roles at Unitrac Railroad Materials support the production process of finished products. Roles include: Panel Assembler/Laborer, Welder, CNC Machine Operator, Machinist, Maintenance Technician, and Material Handler.

Common Responsibilities

While each role requires specific skills, all share these essential responsibilities:

1. Use and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerances.
2. Maintain a clean work area following 5S criteria.
3. Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to ensure continuity between shifts.
4. Work any shift and overtime as needed to meet customer demands.

Role-specific Responsibilities

General Laborer/Panel Assembler: Use or learn to use tools such as jackhammers, impact drills, impacts, sledgehammers, grinders, tape measures, wrenches, and track wrenches.

Welder: Use MIG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies, meeting production schedules and quality standards. Work on special projects as required.

CNC Machine Operator: Load programs, set up, and operate CNC machines safely and accurately; maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; perform preventive maintenance and manage tools and supplies.

Maintenance Technician: Diagnose, repair, and maintain CNC machines, heavy construction vehicles, and support equipment such as excavators, forklifts, dump trucks, front-end loaders, generators, and hydraulic units.

Material Handler: Maintain inventory to support production flow and warehouse organization by identifying, labeling, and storing materials, recording locations, and verifying inventory against production orders.
