Job Description

We are looking for a General Laborer to become a part of our team and to perform manual labor tasks and support operations in worksites and around the yard. You will be given tasks to complete each day. You will be in charge of making sure those tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

One of the most important general laborer responsibilities is to be an effective leader, collect trash, debris and other waste to keep the site clean and safe. You’ll also get to handle power tools and materials (such as saws and drills).

We’d like you to have stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads. You should be able to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to safety rules. If you fit this description, and you’re also interested in doing tough but important work, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Completing all jobs in a safe and efficient manor.
• Lead the junk teams through all daily tasks/jobs.
• Lifting of heavy furniture safely out of customerhomes and into a truck.
• Handle and transport materialsand equipment (e.g. drills and grinders)
• Use power tools and machinery (e.g. skid steer, mini excavator) when needed
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g. completing daily jobs, other miscellaneous tasks )
• Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
• Loading and Unloading trucks of boxed and bagged items, furniture.
• Making sure customer'shomes are treated with respect, clean up after yourself, avoid damage to customer's homes and creating a mess.
• General Maintenance on vehicles and equipment to includegreasing.

Requirements and skills

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
• Experience washing vehicles and larger trucks is preffered
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety rules
• Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary
• Experience with moving furniture is required
• Customer service experience is required
• Experience with Grease Guns Preferred.
