Job summary

Athens Services seeks a General Laborer in Victorville, CA to support landfill/transfer station operations. Responsibilities include property and entrance-road maintenance, drainage work, directing traffic, and enforcing safety procedures.

The role requires professional interaction with customers, drivers, and supervisors and adherence to PPE standards. Salary starts at $24.31 per hour with a Monday–Friday 10:00 am–7:00 pm schedule; benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance,

Qualifications

• 1 year of general labor or construction experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to construction operations.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors and the public.
• Ability to understand and communicate in writing and verbally and follow instructions.
• Ability to observe proper safety precautions.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Valid C Class Driver License.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain landfill/transfer station property and drainage channels clean from debris.
• Work in wind, heat, and cold environments near heavy equipment and refuse.
• Frequent use of hand tools and installation of drainage structures.
• Direct traffic and signal vehicles to appropriate working areas.
• Ensure safety procedures and policies are followed; attend safety meetings.
• Wear and use assigned PPE such as hardhat, safety glasses, Hi-Vis uniform, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
