Job Description:

Perform general labor duties, including serving as a designated spotter for trucks and equipment on an asphalt paving lay-down crew or grading crew.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform various unskilled tasks associated with asphalt paving and grading operations, such as shoveling asphalt, stone, or dirt.
• Use various tools including shovels, rakes, lutes, brooms, picks, hammers, saws, pneumatic hammers, drills, tampers, and concrete saws.
• Operate a farm-type tractor with a power broom attachment.
• Perform duties of the designated spotter, with training provided.

Minimum Qualifications & Training:

• One year of experience preferred; training available for the right candidate.
• Valid NC Driver’s License encouraged.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and adhere to safety rules and policies.
• Maintain good attendance and safety records.
• Willingness to work weekends and some nights.

Tasks Essential to Job Functions:

• Movements include standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, and squatting.
• Regularly lift or move over 25 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Work may involve a full day of 12 to 15 hours, standing and walking.
• Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Travel to and from work; driving company vehicles must meet company driver standards if applicable.
