Job description

Assists in general tasks to support the needs of producing and packaging products according to company and governmental standards.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a general laborer position. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Packing products
• Stacking and unstacking products to meet customer orders
• Sorting finished goods
• Documenting damaged goods
• Verifying packaging codes and UPCs to match planned products
• General cleaning and sanitation of the facility and surrounding grounds
• Performing other tasks as assigned by management

Participates as a member of the team, contributing to ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. Coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends relevant team meetings. Fosters strong cohesiveness on major issues such as direction, annual plans, budgets, and policy changes. Quickly identifies areas lacking cohesiveness, communicates concerns, and works collaboratively to resolve issues, actively seeking ways to achieve synergy within the organization.

Familiar with Simmons' operating systems principles and objectives, including quality, security, office environment, and company policies. Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with these systems and the role of this position in supporting them, including considering the impact of individual actions and communicating concerns or improvement ideas.

Performs other duties as necessary to support business objectives. This description guides the activities of the position but does not limit the scope of work or creativity involved.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 30 lbs. Standing for the entire shift is required. Ability to work in extreme hot/cold and wet/dry environments is necessary.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

Steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, hair net, safety vest, and hard hat where required.
