Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screening and background check required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
• Familiar with hand and power tools; utilities/construction experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Paint and inspect meters along a route in a timely manner.
• Stoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders; lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Assist maintenance and repair of utility infrastructure (pipes, meters).
• Operate and maintain hand/power tools safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload materials; ensure proper handling and securing of items.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
• Report abnormal conditions to supervisor.
• Perform regular AOC inspections on meters.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and travel to sites.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Southern Cross, LLC is seeking a Meter Technician to inspect, paint, and maintain natural gas meter sets. This position will provide support for technical operations, primarily involving pipeline maintenance and utility services. This role involves both manual labor and the use of specialized equipment.

Starting Pay

$22.00 per hour with automatic rate increases of $.50 at both 60 days and 180 days of employment!

Work Schedule

Full-Time | Monday Friday | 1st Shift

Job Responsibilities

• Work a route to complete meter painting and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with training and procedures.
• Stoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders, and lift weights at a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of utility infrastructure, such as pipelines, meters, and related components.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload vehicles with materials and equipment, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times.
• Recognize abnormal operating conditions such as corrosion meters under stress, etc., and report to the supervisor.
• Assists in performing regular inspections for AOC (Atmospheric Corrosion) on Meters.
• Required to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to different job sites.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of hand tools and power tools.
• Prior experience in construction, utilities, or a related field is a plus but not required.
• Keen senses of smell, hearing, vision, and color identification.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including overtime and occasional weekends, as job demands.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.

Bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per day; carrying up to 50 lbs of equipment
