Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) in Taylor, MI is hiring a General Laborer to support metal scrap processing, loading, unloading, sorting, and equipment operation. You will follow safety rules, wear PPE, and maintain a clean, organized site.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Experience operating mobile equipment preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to work in a dusty, demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials from storage, production areas, docks, and vehicles.
• Sort recycled materials and metals to separate high-grade metals and remove non-conforming items.
• Operate and maintain mobile equipment including forklifts and skid steers.
• Perform tasks with hand tools and other equipment (torch, bander, chop saw, etc.).
• Identify scrap grade and undesired elements within materials.
• Remove fluids from incoming materials or vehicles as required.
• Maintain plant cleanliness and assist mechanics with equipment maintenance.
• Interact with customers or drivers to direct or assist them.
• Perform other general laborer tasks as required.
