Job summary

Tusco, Inc. in Huntsville is seeking General Laborers / Installers to support the installation of perimeter and electronic security systems at construction sites. The role involves physical labor, tool operation, material handling, and adherence to safety protocols.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 100 lbs, follow detailed instructions, and pass DOT physical and background checks. High School diploma preferred; extensive travel is required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel extensively and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of perimeter and electronic security components.
• Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools.
• Prepare tools and materials including concrete work.
• Clean and prepare areas of the jobsite and store materials.
• Load and unload materials and distribute them per crew directions.
• Assist with layout and measurements on-site.
• Direct traffic around work zones and supervise equipment movements.
• Keep site clean and comply with safety policies and PPE.
• Complete required training (CPR, First Aid, OSHA) and cross-train as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

We are currently seeking General Laborers / Installers to join our Huntsville team!

The Installer will perform a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of workers on the construction site.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of perimeter and electronic security components.
• Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools.
• Prepares tools and materials such as mixing and pouring concrete.
• Cleans and prepares specific areas of jobsite as assigned including the use of post hole diggers, shovels, rock bars, sledgehammers, concrete saws, demolition saws and drilling equipment.
• Loads and unloads materials and distributes them to appropriate location as identified by the crew foreman, superintendent, project plans, or specifications.
• Assists with Preparation and Layout marking of area where construction will take place by using string levels, measuring tape, surveyor laser Level, etc. for measuring, marking, or recording openings or distances as directed or instructed onsite.
• Directs traffic near, in, or around work zones.
• Motions equipment operator to assist with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
• Cleans jobsite at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are properly stored.
• Follow all site safety and environmental policies & procedures, including proper use of required PPE.
• Completes all required training including CPR, First Aid, and OSHA courses
• Cross trains to perform other jobs as needed.
• Cooperates with other team members.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers or Tusco employees.
• Ability to work from detailed instructions to occasionally perform tasks independently.
• Ability to remain flexible with changes in assignments, location and weather conditions.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug test and state and federal background checks to access worksite locations.
• Extensive out-of-town travel required.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to stand and walk up to ten hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
