Dakota Mill and Grain, Inc. is seeking a General Laborer to join our dynamic team. As a General Laborer, you will play an essential role in the day-to-day operations of our grain elevator facility, ensuring the efficient handling and processing of various agricultural commodities.

Responsibilities:

1. Load and unload products from trucks and railcars.
2. Weigh and grade incoming and outgoing grain shipments accurately, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
3. Monitor grain storage conditions and make appropriate adjustments to maintain optimal grain quality.
4. Maintain accurate records of grain transactions and inventory.
5. Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the grain elevator facility.
6. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any malfunctions or repairs needed.
7. Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies.
8. Provide exceptional customer service to farmers, customers, and suppliers.
9. Unload incoming grain trucks and perform quality inspections to ensure compliance with established standards.
10. Load grain into outbound trucks and railcars, efficiently optimizing storage space within the grain elevator.
11. Safely operate forklifts, skid steers, and other machinery to move and transport grain within the facility.
12. Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping tasks to keep the grain elevator clean, organized, and hazard-free.

Qualifications:

1. Successfully pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and physical.
2. High school diploma/GED preferred.
3. Valid driver's license.
4. Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
5. Prior experience in a grain elevator or agricultural setting is preferred, but not required.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working at heights in various weather conditions.
8. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Basic computer skills and ability to operate grain handling equipment.
11. Commitment to safety and ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols.
12. Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, during peak harvest seasons.

Physical Requirements:

1. Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift with or without assistance.
2. Frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
3. Standing/working on feet for extended periods and walking across uneven terrain, climbing up and down ladders and stairways.
4. Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, etc.
5. Frequent exposure to noise and dust.
6. Able to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety-related equipment.
7. Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and overtime as required.
