Summary of Position:

Perform tasks involving physical labor with heavy construction projects or flagging duties. Operate a variety of hand and power tools. Assist in site cleaning, trench digging, waste removal, flagging, and supporting operators.

Note: South Dakota Davis-Bacon Act Wage rates will apply for this project.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects.
• Prepare surfaces, ditches, culverts, or other areas.
• Shovel dirt within construction areas as directed.
• Maintain a clean work site, secure tools and equipment daily.
• Load, unload, haul, and hoist materials such as pipes and supplies.
• Perform flagging duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Abilities & Physical Demands:

• Basic knowledge of construction equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Ability to work independently and follow schedules.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical tasks under adverse conditions.
• Proper and safe use of equipment and tools.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Dependability in attendance and schedule adherence.
