Job description

Shift: Sat-Mon 5:30am-5:30pm

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Complete examination of finished product by checking height, shape, color, and consistency according to company standards and applicable in-process systems.
  2. Perform block checks, remove defective pieces from pallets or boards, and replace them with quality pieces. Tasks vary by line, product, and process assigned to the General Laborer.
  3. Complete packaging duties, including adding packaging materials, top sheets, labels, and conducting final QC on the skid of finished products before sending to the yard for final transport. All products must be packaged neatly and securely.
  4. Assist machine operators and support various processes such as pallet repair, general maintenance, yard support, and other duties as directed.
  5. Follow established policies and procedures to ensure QA standards are met or exceeded.
  6. Maintain a clean workstation and assist with plant cleanup.
  7. Wear personal protective equipment and adhere to safety behaviors.
  8. Follow proper lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
  9. Behave in accordance with Techo-Bloc's Vision, Mission, and Values.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration and addressing shop floor issues.
  • Ability to perform essential duties to company standards.
  • Knowledge or ability to operate machinery (not as a machine operator).
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Reasoning and application of common sense.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Multitasking capabilities.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED (highly preferred).
  • One year of manufacturing experience (preferred).

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands include frequently transporting items up to 75 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds, closely inspecting materials, and identifying color variances with up to three colors per product. Must be able to move throughout the workstations, ascend/descend steps and ladders, and work in tight spaces. Repeatedly reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally.
