Job Description

Starting rate: $23.50/hr + $2.00/hr shift differential starting at 4pm

Location: Rock Island, IL

Schedule: Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Complete examination of finished product by checking height, shape, color, and consistency by applying knowledge of proper company standards as instructed and applicable for in-process systems.
• Complete block checks, remove any defective pieces from pallet or board, and replace defective pieces with quality pieces. These tasks vary by line and product assigned to the General Laborer.
• Complete packaging, including adding packaging materials, top sheet, labels, and final QC on the skid of finished product before sending to the yard for final transport.
• Assist machine operators and support tasks such as pallet repair, general maintenance, yard support, and completing processes as directed.
• Follow established guidelines for policy and procedure to ensure QA standards are met or exceeded.
• Maintain a clean workstation and assist with plant cleanup.
• Wear personal protective equipment and ensure behaviors are safe.
• Follow proper lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
• Behave in accordance with Techo-Bloc's vision, mission, and values.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and memos.
• Ability to work collaboratively, communicating shop floor issues effectively.
• Ability to perform duties to company standards.
• Knowledge or ability to operate machinery (not as a machine operator).
• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide.
• Reasoning and applying common sense.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Multitasking ability.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• One year of manufacturing experience (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands include frequently transporting items up to 75 pounds, occasionally up to 80 pounds, inspecting materials, and identifying color variances. Must be able to move throughout the workstations, ascend/descend steps and ladders, and work in tight spaces. Repetitive motions, talking, and hearing are also required.
