Job summary

Concast, Inc. is seeking a General Laborer in the Casting Department to support our precast concrete production. You will prepare molds, fill them with concrete, inspect quality, and work with a hands-on team to keep daily operations running safely.

This role emphasizes reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma preferred; prior concrete or manufacturing experience is a plus, and first-shift hours provide predictable scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Mold Preparation & Casting: Clean, assemble, and prepare steel molds for casting; apply release agents and set up molds; fill molds with concrete and use vibrators for proper consolidation; assist in finishing and curing processes.
• Quality & Safety: Inspect molds and finished products; follow safety protocols and wear PPE; keep work areas clean and organized.
• Teamwork & Support: Work with the team to meet daily production goals; participate in meetings and continuous improvement; support other production tasks as directed.

Position Summary

The General Laborer in our Casting Department is at the heart of Concast’s production process. You’ll prepare molds, fill them with concrete, ensure products meet quality standards, and work alongside a skilled team to keep production running smoothly. This is a hands-on manufacturing role that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety.

Mold Preparation & Casting

• Clean, assemble, and prepare steel molds for casting.
• Apply release agents and set up molds for production.
• Fill molds with concrete and use vibrators and other tools to ensure proper consolidation.
• Assist in finishing and curing processes as directed.

Quality & Safety

• Inspect molds and finished products for quality and accuracy.
• Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
• Keep work areas clean and organized in line with Concast’s housekeeping standards.

Teamwork & Support

• Work collaboratively to meet daily production goals.
• Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement activities.
• Support other production tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in concrete, construction, or manufacturing is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and lift 25-50 lbs (occasional team lift of up to 100 lbs).
• Work in a loud environment with moving equipment and heavy machinery.
• Flexibility to work overtime as production needs require.

Pay & Benefits

• Pay range: $24.00 - $26.00/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
