Job summary

Alter Trading is seeking a General Laborer for our night shift. Work outdoors to clean around equipment and perform minor maintenance to keep systems running for the next shift. Prior experience with yard vehicles and loaders is a plus, and you should be comfortable with weather variations.

Primary duties include cleaning around equipment, performing basic PMs on conveyors and machines, and supporting parts, welding, and minor electrical repairs as needed. Safety PPE is required at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Familiarity with yard vehicles, forklift, loaders is a plus.
• Organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Clean around equipment to ensure smooth operation for next shift.
• Perform minor maintenance to maintain plant productivity.
• Assist with PMs on conveyors, machines, and related equipment.
• Assist with parts ordering, welding, fabrication, and minor electrical repairs.
• Wear PPE and follow safety standards at all times.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

General Laborer

ABOUT THE POSITION:

We’re looking for dedicated individuals to join our night shift crew. In this role, you’ll work during non-production hours to clean around the equipment and perform minor maintenance to keep our equipment running. This work is performed outdoors and subject to the elements, so you’ll need to be comfortable working in varying weather conditions.

ABOUT THE JOB:

• Cleans around equipment so that it can run properly the next shift.
• Maintains plant productivity by proactively performing minor maintenance.
• Stationary equipment by performing PM’s on:
  • Downstream sorting lines, conveyors and machines
  • Diagnostics and repairs to industrial type of equipment including auto shredder, Mobile Equipment, Forklifts, front end loaders, skid steers, truck & Trailers.
• May be involved in a variety of other responsibilities including ordering of parts, welding, fabricating and performance electrical repairs (minor).
• Wears all necessary PPE when working in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times.
• Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.

ABOUT YOU:

• High school diploma or GED, preferred
• Familiarity with yard vehicles, forklift, loaders, and material separators a definite plus
• Organizational skills required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 – 50 pounds.
